This dish is also great for an appetizer if you are having friends over! For the filling, we have used ground chicken, but the recipe also works great with ground pork.

Making the sauce
In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients.
Making the filling
1. Mix together 2 tbsp of sauce with the ground chicken.
2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat. When shimmering hot, add the chicken and cook, break up the meat, cook until browned. Approximately 5-6 minutes. Transfer meat to a plate and set aside.
3. Add the remaining 1 tbsp of oil to the skillet, then add white parts of green onion, garlic, ginger, and cook for 1 minute. Add mushrooms, stir until they release the liquid for approximately 3-4 minutes. Return the chicken to the pan, add the water chestnuts, bell pepper, the rest of the sauce, and cook. Cook until the liquid has reduced and slightly thickened. Stir in green parts of green onion
4. Transfer to a bowl and serve with lettuce.
